Field Trips: Historic Fort Snelling
Learn stories of the military fort and its surrounding area, home to a wide history that includes Native peoples, trade, soldiers, enslaved people, and immigrants. Explore the new Plank Museum & Visitor Center inside a rehabilitated 1904 cavalry barracks and experience expanded outdoor learning opportunities with stunning river overlooks.

Students will engage in a brand new experience where they will experience stories of people who lived in and around the fort through lively conversation with staff while on a guided tour of the fort's buildings, spending time exploring the new landscape, visiting the newly restored visitor center, participating in staff lead demonstrations, and so much more! Also learn about summer field trips.

- $8 per student, $80 minimum group fee
- Teachers and staff free
- One free chaperone per five students. Additional chaperones invoiced at student rate.
Billing information
No payment will be accepted the day of the field trip. All schools will be invoiced after their trip. For more information see our Program Policies.
